At The Learning Shop, you can:
- Use the Career Quest programme to help you look at jobs to suit your skills
and interests
- Use Kiwi Careers to find out about jobs, training and education. You can
gather information on courses in Porirua, Wellington and all over New Zealand
- Use the Breakout Database to find out about scholarships and grants that
you may be eligible for
- Type up your CV and job or course applications
- Ask for information about any course you are interested in
- Ask us for help and support with your study. We can access your learning
needs, provide you with a mentor, offer career counselling and advice, or
just answer any questions about study that you might have
- Ask us about loans and allowances and how to get them
- Use the internet connection for research for your course work
The Learning Shop also offers:
- Face to face, computer or phone access to career information
- Information on loans, grants and scholarships
- Career pathway planning (individual or group)
- Talks to community groups about tertiary education
- e-Learning opportunities
- Displays and material for careers expos
- Mentors to help support learners
- Individual career counselling
- Visits to Marae, church, schools, sports groups to run sessions on career
pathways
- A suite of 10 computers linked to the internet for student use
- A place for groups to access career information
